Is the group open / who can attend?
This group is open to anyone who is interested in exploring how the paths of meditation and path of recovery intersect. No meditation experience is necessary. Brief meditation instruction is given at the start of the meeting. More detailed instruction can be arranged as well. Please contact your local meeting for more information.
Is this a confidential and anonymous group?
Confidentiality: All individuals are expected to respect the confidentiality of what they hear at the group as well as who they see at the group.
Anonymity: The degree of anonymity held during the meeting is up to each individual.
What if I am new to Buddhism or meditation?
No experience with meditation is necessary. A brief meditation instruction is read at the beginning of the meeting. More detailed instruction is available. (See Below)
I am not involved in AA or any other 12 step group, is it still appropriate to attend?
We welcome all individuals who are committed to working with their addictive and compulsive behaviors. While many discussions will make reference to the 12 steps, it is not a 12 step group and there is no requirement to be involved in any 12 step groups.
